The São Francisco de Assis Mission in Haiti focuses on the daily care of pregnant women and the fight against child malnutrition. In addition, they offer services to the community in the areas of dentistry, gynecology, pediatrics, among others, in addition to assisting people in extreme poverty.
Friar Gabriel, guardian of the Mission, is a Brazilian Franciscan friar very dear to our group who for more than 10 years has dedicated his life to the benefit of the most needy in that country!
All this in addition to several and varied items such as food, school supplies, hygiene products, children's and adult clothes, toys, household items, furniture, medicines and many others. In 2021 alone, 229 boxes of 18/18/28 were sent.
Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare genetic and inherited disorder that causes blistering of the skin due to minimal friction or trauma and manifests at birth.
Children with Epidermolysis Bullosa are known as “Butterfly Children” because the skin resembles the wings of a butterfly, due to the fragility caused by the alteration of the proteins responsible for joining the layers of the skin.
Thanks to the donations of these products, we can bring a better quality of life to many Brazilian children with this disease!
Philipe lives in São Paulo and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy after complications in childbirth!
His biggest dream was to stand and to make his wish come true, he needed to buy expensive equipment in Brazil!
After several attempts we managed to acquire the equipment and send it to São Paulo through the support of Azul Air Lines, to whom we are very grateful!
We were able to provide financial aid for dear Philipe's surgeries and treatments on several occasions.
His mother is dedicated and is always looking to offer better quality of life to her beloved son!
Jeremias is a beautiful child of Venezuelan origin diagnosed with cerebral palsy who lives in the city of Orlando!
On this occasion, our dear Cristiane Carmo guided the family on basic rehabilitation exercises, in addition to providing probes and specific food for dear Jeremias!
The delicacy of manual work, in addition to providing “smiles” and joy in the heart of those who receive it, brings many people an alternative to occupational therapy, a precious food for combating depression.
Nathan, son of Brazilians, survived a drowning, a fatality that brought serious commitments to this beautiful child!

In September 2019, the passage of Hurricane Dorian through the Bahamas left many dead and terrible devastation. An estimated 76,000 people were affected across the Bahamas and the Abaco Islands.
The Brazilian community in Orlando mobilized and Holding Hands took care of collecting the donations, selecting the products and arranging the shipment with great care.
We work in partnership with The Green Turtle Cay Foundation and they have shipped, by air and sea, all donations of food, clothing, medicine, water and other general necessities to the Bahamas!
The Global Children's Assistance Foundation is headquartered in Orlando, Florida, but its main social activity is in the San Pedro de Macoris region, in the Dominican Republic, where families in extreme poverty are assisted.
The focus of this Foundation has been to provide food, clothing, school supplies and Christian religious education for children in need!
Holding Hands in partnership with Caravan do Amor is periodically visiting HOMELESS in downtown Orlando!
This is another movement of love and solidarity, offering affection, food, clothes and others to these brothers who go through such difficult tests!
Holding Hands USA Inc is a non-profit institution focused on the development of social actions that aim to contribute to the formation of a more fraternal and just society. Currently, our main actions are aimed at supporting pregnant women and combating child malnutrition in Haiti, in addition to offering support to Brazilian children with Epidermolysis Bullosa.
